Hi there, I'm Debbie and I am the manager at nursery and I have managed Headstart for well over 20 years.
I'm highly passionate about providing children with experiences that they will cherish for life!Here at Headstart, I want children to be happy, independant life-long learners and I hope that the education and care that we provide is second to none.
I am the appointed Safeguarding Lead and Health & Safety Officer within nursery.

I''m Jenny and I am the Deputy Manager at Headstart. I coodinate the education and care for children with additional needs and am the appointed Special Education Needs and Disabilities Person (SENDCo).
Having had 2 children attend this nursery (and then join to work myself!) I can testify that the experiences on offer here are fantastic!
In my time at Headstart, I have gained a Cache Diploma Level 3 qualification in Special Educational Needs. I am also responsible for the day to day running of the nursery.

Hi there, I am Jan one of the nursery owners. Like my son, Joe, I visit Head Start on a monthly basis for a week working alongside the management team.

I started Head Start back in 1988 alongside my business partner Sue. Since then, Head Start has grown and changed and is widely recognised in the local community.
​
With a background in Early Years (since the early 70s!) I recognise the importance of local community and our aim is to incorporate this into everything that we do.

Hi there, I'm Joe and you might see me from time to time in the nursery.
I assist with the day to day running and support with the education and care and implementation of our curriculum.I am based in our sister nurseries (in Cornwall: The Barn Day Nursery & St Erth Nursery).
In 2018, I achieved Early Years Teacher Status and have worked in Early Years since 2011. In addition to this, I am Makaton trained and am an appointed Designated Safeguarding Lead within our sister nursery.

Hi there, I'm Nazia and I work in the Preschool Room. I have recently completed the Level 5 Early Years Lead Practitioner Qualification. I aim to provide an exciting range of activities that help promote a love for learning for life!

I'm quite green-fingered and love to go out to our growing area with the children to teach them about local produce, growth, decay and changes over time.

Hello, I’m Paige.
I work across both the Preschool and Middles rooms, supporting children as they learn, grow, and develop in preparation for school. I am passionate about creating positive learning experiences that build confidence and independence.

I am currently undertaking a degree in Childhood and Youth Studies, which supports my practice and helps me provide high-quality learning experiences for the children.
​
I love sharing stories with the children every day and enjoy spending time playing and exploring in our fabulous outdoor area.

Hi there, I'm Najma and I am based in the Middles room. I am currently undertaking a level 5 Lead Practitioner qualification and am a staff supervisor.

I have worked at Head Start since the start of COVID. I am key person in the Middles room and feel that we have one the most rewarding jobs!
I am passionate about teaching the youngest in our society to be Happy, Healthy and Independent learners!

Hi there, I'm Lottie and I am based in the nursery office. I asist the management team and am an administrator of the nursery.

I work closely with all staff and children to provide the best possible care; I have very high standards which I put into every aspect of my work.

You'll get to know me quite well as I greet the children and take them to their room. I'm more than happy to arrange consultations with the management team/childrens' key persons.
